2nd Week of April

Sunday, April 9th

My Grandma came for a visit and stayed the night. We always enjoy having her. Here she is playing cards with Ashley after dinner.

Later that evening we read one of the accounts from the scriptures of Jesus entering Jerusalem, since it was palm Sunday. Then we let the younger kids take turns role-playing Jesus riding a donkey (dad) while the others said, “Hosanna” and waved pretend palm leaves. Why didn’t I take any pictures of that? lol

I did take a picture afterward though. David was super happy with his donkey….I mean daddy! 😉 Carlos is such a good sport when it comes to playing things like that with the kids.

Next we matched Moana. The girls were excited to watch it with her, as she had not seen it yet.

Here are the boys during the movie. Photo credit goes to my grandma. What grandsons would pose for a Sunday night picture for their great grandma? 😉

Tuesday, April 11th

Today, I babysat for a friend who had a doctor appointment. It worked out well, because one of the areas I had focused on this week for David’s tot school was the social area and the target we were working on was playing side-by-side with other children. At first David was shy, but as you can see in this picture he warmed up and had a good time.

This evening, the boys had an away soccer game. The little ones and I packed a dinner and drove out to watch the game. Here are some pictures from after the game. Pic #1 cousin Edgar (JV) with Carlitos. Pic #2 Carlitos, Jonny & Jose from the varsity team. They won their game 1-0.

Friday, April 14th

So, this happened at school today! Carlitos asked Kacey to go to prom with him.

This evening Ashley and her team played their 3rd game of the season. This was their first win! They played really well and I finally took some pictures.

When we came home, we had this delicious meal for dinner. It is called Chiles Rellenos. It is a traditional meal that we eat the Friday before Easter.

Then Jose went to stay the night at Jonny’s house and Carlos took Carlitos to see the Fate of the Furious Movie on its opening night.

These cuties and I stayed home to color Easter eggs.

Saturday, April 15th

Another soccer game for the boys today. Here they are in their huddle before the game. My husband Carlos is the one wearing the light gray sweatshirt in the middle, and Jose is the first white jersey to the right. Of course Carlitos is somewhere in there too.

Take a look above to the left side of this picture. You can clearly see the kid from the other team holding / grabbing Carlitos’ arm. It was interesting that I caught that on camera. I didn’t realize it until I was looking at the pictures that night. This team is from a much bigger school and they are not in our league. There was a little bit of rough play, but I think it is good for our boys to play against non-league teams sometimes.

Here is Jose doing a throw-in. I like the way his hair looks in this picture.

Their team ended up loosing this game. The final score was 4-1.

Ashley also had another soccer game today. Her big brother Carlitos was the referee of her game. A few of the girls ran up to him after the game, it was pretty cute. Pic #1 Ashley & Carlitos with cousin Sophie. Pic #2 Carlitos giving Ashley a big fat red card! 😉

That evening, Carlos cut David’s hair. We usually take him to get his hair cut, but have been pretty busy with soccer lately. For the most part, David held still. Now he has a fresh-cut for Easter Sunday tomorrow!
