August 2020 ~ Week 1

This week was full of summertime fun!

Monday, August 3rd

This evening before FHE I was able to fit in a game of mancala with my favorite little guy! Then, for FHE we watched two videos that Elder Juarez sent us and then we watched the movie, Breakthrough.

Tuesday, August 4th

During family scripture study, I saw David and Carlos snuggling and I just had to sneak a picture! They of course knew what I was doing and they decided to strike a pose. lol

Ashley started working on this chalk mural yesterday and eventually Emily joined her. Carlos snapped a picture of them on his way to leave for work this evening.

Wednesday, August 5th

Today we took the boat out on a different lake. This lake is longer than the lake we had been going to. It is 3.97 miles. We got subway for lunch and ate on the boat as Carlos took us around the lake. So far, I have enjoyed boating….just not when Carlos and the kids like to go fast! There’s no place I’d rather be, than with my family on a beautiful day!

Thursday, August 6th

Emily and David played dress up this morning. They were both dressed as super heroes.

Shortly after, Ashley and I did a Costco and winco shopping trip. She was a great help to me today. Later that evening I made some blackberry jam and a blackberry cobbler. Yum!

Saturday, August 8th

Today was a big day! I pulled off a surprise for Emily for her birthday. Her friend Aubrey (from where we used to live) was going to come an stay the night. Since Emily didn’t know, I needed to keep her away from our big Livingroom windows. Ashley had been waiting outside to try to catch it all on camera.

We pulled it off! BFF’s reunited!

We spent the remainder of the day at the lake. Emily picked dinner, and it was a DQ picnic in our Livingroom. We let her open an early birthday present, which was the movie Frozen II and we watched it while we had our picnic.

Sunday, August 9th

We continued the sleepover fun today, with church at home, lunch (plus cake and ice cream) and berry picking. It is so very cute to see these two girls together again. They picked up right where they left off. They hold hands and do everything together. We made the trip to drive Aubrey home around 3:30.

It worked out perfectly as today is my mom’s birthday. So, we had a little BBQ to celebrate Mom and Emily’s birthdays, at my mom’s house. It nice to be able to see my mom on her birthday. šŸ™‚ Good food too!
