May 2020 ~ week 1

Monday, May 4th

Happy new hair style Monday! LOL

Tuesday, May 5th

Emily had her first 3rd grade google classroom meeting today, which was really cute to see all the kids and their faces light up at the sight of each other. Her teacher does such a nice job too!

Today is Cinco de Mayo! I decided to incorporate this holiday into our homeschool day. First, I told the kids to pick out some cinco de mayo inspired clothes to wear.

Here is what the kids wore for Cinco de Mayo

We did some fun Cinco de Mayo worksheets for homeschool and then headed outside to play.

For the record, our snack was also mexican themed! LOL

Jose’s girlfriend is a senior this year. When I first heard that school was canceled due to coronavirus for the rest of the year, she is the first person I thought of. She was there to see all of Jose’s senior moments last year, like prom and graduation etc. My heart broke for her as well other seniors that we know who will be missing out on these special senior moments. Jose was even going to take Belle to her senior prom!

The high school had these banners made and hung them in a centrally located part of town where many people would be able to see them. They are hung all along a park fence. So cool, right? Jose stopped by and took a picture next to Belle’s banner. What an awesome way to honor the graduating seniors.

Wednesday, May 6th

Today’s zone conference via xoom.

These four are roommates. The new missionary in the yellow tie is the one who transferred in when Elder Johnson transferred out. I can’t wait to talk to Elder Juarez on Mother’s Day!

Ashley has been working on puzzles in her free time. These are the two that she completed this week.

Carlos was called into work this evening. The kids were a little bummed about him having to go into work. So, we spent sometime playing outside before having a late dinner.

We drew with chalk for a while. Then at one point Ashley pulled each of the kids aside to talk with them. I think they were planning Mother’s Day stuff.

David also practiced shooting some hoops!

Thursday, May 7th

In homeschool pre -k David has been learning about plants and gardening.

He has been helping his daddy with watering our little garden as part of his homeschool day.

All of the kids have loved their time outside this week!

I have to say this basketball hoop that Santa brought Ashley for Christmas has been a big hit. We had one at our old house that belonged to Jose but got broken during the move.

While the kids played, Carlos worked on cleaning up and organizing the shed.

My handy hubby built the shelves for our shed all on his own….plus with a little help from the kiddos. Emily has quite the helper that day.

Friday, May 8th

The kids asked to do school work outside. It was glorious weather for it!

More gardening work with Daddy today!

David using the hose to fill the watering can

For game night, we played a couple of rounds of Uno. I’m so thankful I have these guys to hang out with during the stay home stay safe order!
